History

Spaulding Township is a General Law Township with population of 2,141 residents and 27 square miles of area. Spaulding Township is not a full size township being cut off by the Shiawassee River on the west side. Spaulding Township is the home of the Shiawassee Flats National Wildlife Refuge a 7,300 acre wildlife refuge visited by many people each year; the Township is about 70% rural.

Spaulding Township boasts a volunteer fire department, police department, air conditioned hall, well kept park, and a township run cemetery for its residents. Approximately 95 % of our residents have city water.
